Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and organisation, with a particular emphasis on commercial driving and bulk tipping. 2-3 nights out per week will be required. Overtime pay and night out pay.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, to deliver goods to designated locations.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Load and unload, ensuring proper securing and sheeting of loads.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations during driving operations.
- Assist with loading and organising stock.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, particularly bulk tipping artics or similar large vehicles.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties, with a clean driving record.
- Experience in delivery driving is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transportation.
- Ability to operate bulk tippers confidently and securely load/unload cargo.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with clients and team members.
