Overview
Join our team as a Self Employed Driver specializing in waste and recycling collection! In this role, you will operate your vehicle to efficiently and will be collecting waste from holiday homes and safely transport waste and recyclable materials from designated locations to disposal or processing facilities. This position offers the flexibility of self-employment while playing a vital part in environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own vehicle, including trucks suitable for waste and recycling collection, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Collect waste and recyclable materials from residential, commercial, or industrial sites according to scheduled routes
- Ensure proper handling of materials, including heavy lifting when necessary, to prevent damage or injury
- Maintain accurate records of collections, routes completed, and any issues encountered during daily operations
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams to confirm pick-up schedules and resolve any service concerns
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver with a clean driving record
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s license or equivalent license suitable for operating commercial vehicles
- Experience with warehouse operations or heavy lifting tasks is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to manage time efficiently and follow scheduled routes accurately
- Knowledge of waste management procedures and safety standards is a plus
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of driving or standing
Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
