Bells Food Group have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our Operations team.

The Role
As a Production Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our bakery, leading and supporting the production team to ensure the daily production plan is achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
This is a hands-on supervisory role where you will be responsible for coordinating people and resources, monitoring production performance and supporting the Production Manager to minimise downtime and waste.
You will also have responsibility for maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, GMP and employee management, while ensuring the team operates effectively within company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, motivate and support the production team to achieve daily production plans and performance targets
- Coordinate people and resources to ensure production lines operate efficiently with minimal downtime and waste
- Monitor production performance, including productivity, quality, changeovers, downtime and waste
- Work closely with Production Managers and other departments including Technical, Engineering and Hygiene
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures, company policies and safe working practices are followed at all times
- Maintain high standards of Food Safety, GMP, hygiene and product quality
- Ensure production, technical and manufacturing documentation is completed accurately
- Manage first-line employee matters including attendance, absence, return-to-work discussions, holidays and performance issues
- Carry out regular team communication and effective shift handovers
- Support the training, coaching and development of team members
- Identify operational issues and work with colleagues to implement practical solutions
- Support continuous improvement and ensure production targets and customer service requirements are achieved
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG would be advantageous
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience within a manufacturing or fast-paced production environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a team
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
- Ability to maintain high standards of quality and GMP within a manufacturing environment
- Confident dealing with attendance, performance and other first-line employee matters
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to organise and prioritise workloads within a fast-paced environment
- Good IT and PC skills, including Microsoft Office
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety training would be advantageous
- Relevant SVQ or supervisory qualification would be advantageous
Shift pattern: Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 14:00, Friday 06:00 – 13:00
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 after 39 hours Monday – Friday and x2 for weekends

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
