Residential Care Worker / Team Leader – Children’s EBD Home
Location: March, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year (depending on experience & role)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
About the Role
We are seeking passionate and resilient Residential Care Workers and experienced Team Leaders to join our dedicated team supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in a residential care setting.

Key Responsibilities Residential Care Worker:
- Provide day-to-day care, support, and supervision to young people
- Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a role model
- Support emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Assist with daily routines, including education, activities, and appointments
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Work as part of a team to ensure high standards of care
Team Leader (in addition to the above):
- Lead shifts and support the management team
- Supervise and mentor staff members
- Ensure care plans and risk assessments are implemented effectively
- Promote safeguarding and compliance with regulations
- Contribute to staff development and training
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children/young people (EBD experience desirable)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
- We also welcome applicants from related backgrounds (e.g. youth work, teaching assistants, support work, mentoring, or similar).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilient, patient, and committed attitude
- Ability to work shifts including sleep-ins
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
For Team Leader role:
- Proven experience in a senior/support role within residential childcare
