Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following prescribed instructions and safety protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Help clients with household chores, light cleaning, laundry, and errands to maintain a clean and comfortable living space
- Engage clients in social activities or companionship to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness
- Follow care plans accurately and document all care activities, observations, and any changes in client condition
- Drive clients safely to appointments, social outings, or errands as needed, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or home care environments, especially with elderly or vulnerable adults
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Valid driving license for safe transportation of clients when required
- Basic first aid certification and knowledge of medication administration procedures
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and client needs while maintaining professionalism
