Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team specialising in civil engineering and ground works, primarily in the water industry. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing detailed tender documents, and managing cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will ensure that projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Develop detailed tender submissions, including scope of work, pricing, and contractual terms.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, identifying potential overruns early.
- Conduct regular cost reviews and update estimates as project scope evolves or changes occur.
- Assist in procurement processes by evaluating supplier quotes and negotiating prices to optimize budget efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documentation, including budgets, change orders, and invoices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent skills in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite including Eque2.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders.
- A relevant qualification such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field is preferred.
