We are looking for a Quality Risk Assessor (an entry-level position; full training will be provided) to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, with hybrid working, 3 days from our Basildon office and 2 days working from home.
This is a varied and rewarding role supporting our network of mortgage and insurance advisers across the UK.
You'll play a key role in reviewing complex cases, providing guidance and coaching to advisers, ensuring regulatory standards are met, and helping maintain the quality and integrity of business submitted across the network.

The Q&R Assessor provides support to our network of Appointed Representative Firms and Advisers, reviewing complex mortgage and insurance cases to ensure they meet Stonebridge standards, internal operating procedures and FCA regulatory requirements.
The role involves providing feedback, guidance and coaching to advisers, acting as a liaison between advisers and the Audit team where required, and helping to resolve issues that arise during the case review process.
Alongside case assessments, the Q&R Assessor is responsible for maintaining accurate management information, producing reports for senior management, and supporting the monitoring of adviser competence standards across the network.
Following the benefit of having received full training:
- Review complex mortgage and insurance cases against established quality, compliance and regulatory standards
- Identify risks, omissions or areas requiring remedial action and communicate these clearly to advisers
- Provide feedback, coaching and guidance to advisers via phone and email to support improved performance and case quality
- Liaise with Senior Audit colleagues and act as a key point of contact between advisers and the Audit team to resolve case queries
- Monitor and follow up outstanding actions to ensure cases are completed to the required standard
- Maintain accurate logs, spreadsheets and management information records
- Produce and collate MI reports for management review
- Review adviser Competent Adviser Learning (CAL) activity to ensure competence requirements are being met and maintained
- Support advisers in understanding and meeting required standards through clear communication and constructive feedback
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review complex documentation accurately
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Comfortable providing feedback, coaching and guidance to advisers
- Able to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experience producing or interpreting management information (MI) would be advantageous
- Knowledge of mortgage and insurance regulation would be beneficial
- Previous administration experience/experience working in an office environment would be beneficial
- Able to fully satisfy the pre-employment screening process, which comprises right to work, identity, 5 years referencing, AML, credit screen, financial sanctions and DBS checks
