Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part Time Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, cash handling and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe during busy periods. This position needs full flexibility between 9-5 Monday to Saturday and is suitable for those seeking part-time employment in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
- Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items meet quality standards
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanour
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or serving experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety procedures is desirable
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards are maintained at all times
