Ask anyone who's done it well: being an Activities Co-ordinator is one of the most rewarding jobs there is. You are the person who fills someone's day with something to look forward to. A singalong that gets the whole lounge going. A quiet chat over an old photograph. A trip out, a birthday made special, a hobby someone thought they'd left behind. You won't just be running activities — you'll be making people's lives brighter, and there aren't many jobs that can honestly say that.
What you'll be doing
Planning and delivering a varied programme of meaningful activities — group and one-to-one — built around what genuinely matters to the people living here. Getting to know each resident: their history, their interests, what makes them light up. Bringing energy and imagination to the day, from creative sessions and entertainment to outings, celebrations and community links. Keeping families involved and welcome. Recording engagement so we can see what's working and do more of it.
What we're looking for
Someone warm, creative and full of energy, who loves being around people and thrives on making a difference. You don't need years of experience — a genuine passion for people and a can-do attitude count for far more. If you're the sort who's always got an idea for something fun, we want to hear from you.
The support behind you
Meaningful activity is a core part of who we are at Brocklehurst, and we put real weight behind it. You'll have a management and regional team who champion this work, back your ideas and want to see the programme grow and thrive. You won't be doing this alone or fighting for it to be taken seriously — it already is.
The SureCare Way — Care · Quality · Compassion
Everyone who works with us lives by five values, and this role brings them to life every single day:
- Kind — you'll bring warmth and patience to every resident, every day
- Curious — you'll take the time to learn what makes each person tick, and never stop looking for new ideas
- Courageous — you'll try something different, champion the quiet voices, and give things a go
- Respectful — you'll honour each person's history, choices and dignity
- Accountable — you'll take pride in your programme and follow through on what you promise
