The Team
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Moving & Handling Ergonomics team. We are a small, dynamic and innovative Team. We provide a specialist moving and handling service to care providers of adults within Council and independent sector services across the Kirklees locality. We promote excellence in all aspects of moving and handling.
The role
Your role as an Advisor will be interesting and varied, from undertaking complex risk assessments to delivering formal training courses. Risk assessments will be undertaken in a wide variety of settings, including service user’s home, residential establishments and/or hospital wards. You will work closely with service users, care providers and other professionals to find the best moving and handling solutions. You will advise on all aspects of moving and handling activities, including ergonomic interventions, such as use of assistive devices, and design of safer and efficient systems of work. You will support and motivate care providers to use and develop their skills in safe and efficient moving and handling practices.
The person
You will need to be highly motivated, resilient and innovative. Be able to work flexibly and have a strong focus on your own personal development. Have relevant experience in the field of moving and handling. A relevant qualification is desirable.
