Commercial Diver (ad-hoc zero hours contract)

The Role
The role may include short periods of working away from home, typically Monday – Friday, with the occasional need for weekend working (by prior arrangement).
Accommodation and subsistence will be provided for overnight stays.
Contracts vary from short term ad hoc bookings to longer term projects such as offshore subsea cable projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake diving works to HSE Diving at Work Regulations, Inland/Inshore Approved Code of Practice and Briggs operating procedures & standards.
- Work with team members in order to effectively execute diving and non-diving engineering services and marine works.
- Co-operate with instructions of the Diving/project supervisor as required to complete the necessary project tasks.
- Contribute to on-site risk assessment and hazard identification.
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of diving equipment, company equipment and hired-in equipment.
- Assist with completing statutory and company documentation in order to effectively undertake diving operations. (records, permits etc)
- The role may include assisting non-diving departments with other company activities such as inspections and surveys, confined space operations, driving duties and other yard-based duties, depending on skills, experience and capabilities.
The Candidate
- Recognised commercial diving qualification suitable for UK operations (e.g. HSE Surface Supplied or equivalent)
- Current HSE Diving Medical (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong safety awareness and professional attitude
- Ability to work effectively within a disciplined team environment
- Willingness to travel and work across the UK and overseas when required

Due to the nature of our defence contracts, applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom and be UK nationals.
