You will play a key role in identifying new corporate client opportunities, expanding the organisation’s presence in targeted financial sectors, and contributing to revenue-generating initiatives. Core Responsibilities
Business Growth & Client Development
- Generate new business leads across regulated financial sectors, including electronic money institutions, payment providers, brokers, and investment-related organisations.
- Identify opportunities specifically related to payments and foreign exchange solutions.
- Collaborate with the Relationship Manager to exceed performance goals and secure new client relationships.
Market Research & Strategic Planning
- Investigate emerging industries and potential business areas that align with strategic goals.
- Assist in shaping growth plans for developing new sectors and enhancing current offerings.
Marketing & Campaign Support
- Create structured marketing plans and outreach schedules.
- Contribute ideas for promotional activities and campaigns aimed at attracting corporate clients.
Client Experience & Service Quality
- Ensure that new initiatives and client onboarding processes meet expected service standards.
- Support retention activities for both new and existing clients, helping the organisation maintain long-term relationships.
Internal Collaboration & Third-Party Engagement
- Work closely with colleagues to maximise use of available services and solutions.
- Build productive relationships with external partners to strengthen brand visibility.
Risk & Compliance Awareness
- Follow internal procedures, controls, and operational guidelines at all times.
- Consider fairness and consumer duty principles when recommending new business areas or engaging with clients.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure that all client data complies with GDPR requirements.
Required Background
Education
- Degree in finance, business, marketing, or a related field is preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered.
- Willingness to stay current with industry regulations and the licensing requirements of financial institutions.
Professional Experience
- At least two years’ experience in a business development, sales, or similar role within banking, payments, or a financial services institution.
- Evidence of achieving commercial targets and contributing to team-based results.
- Experience generating concepts and solutions to support revenue growth.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a structured, methodical manner.
- Confident communicator capable of influencing decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Understanding of services widely used within financial institutions—such as FX, payments, and savings products.
- Familiarity with compliance, AML, and risk processes (advantageous but not essential).
Decision Making & Ownership
- Manage daily responsibilities proactively while applying relevant policies and procedures.
- Take initiative in driving actions that support revenue targets and new business acquisition.
Working Environment
- 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to adjust hours in line with operational needs.
- Occasional UK-based travel depending on client or business requirements.
