We are seeking a dedicated and experienced live-in dementia carer to provide comprehensive, round-the-clock care for an elderly client based in the W8 area of Kensington and Chelsea. The client's family is actively involved in their care and will be present in the home, providing a supportive environment for the right carer.
About the Role
This is a full-time live-in position requiring a compassionate, patient, and highly capable carer who is comfortable supporting a client living with dementia. The role combines personal care, dementia support, medication management, meal preparation, and a substantial housekeeping component, making it well-suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing personal care with sensitivity, dignity, and a strong attention to hygiene standards
- Supporting the client's daily routine in a consistent, reassuring manner appropriate for someone living with dementia
- Administering and managing medication as prescribed, ensuring accurate and timely support
- Preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals to suit the client's needs and preferences
- Carrying out housekeeping and cleaning duties to a high standard — this is a significant part of the role
- Assisting with nighttime needs: the carer will be required to wake and attend to the client 2–3 times per night
- Communicating effectively with the client's family, who are regularly present in the home
Accommodation
A private room is provided within the client's home. Please note the room is small, so applicants should be comfortable with compact living arrangements. 2 hours break every day, with potential for a whole day off every now and then as long as cover is arranged.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in dementia care is essential
- Strong personal care skills with a genuine commitment to maintaining the client's hygiene and wellbeing
- Reliable, organised, and able to manage both care and housekeeping responsibilities effectively
- Comfortable with nighttime waking (2–3 times per night) and the demands of a live-in role
- The client's family has expressed a preference for a Filipino carer
- Able to work collaboratively and respectfully alongside a family who is closely involved in the client's day-to-day life
- Calm, patient, and experienced in managing the behavioural and emotional aspects of dementia
This is a rewarding role for a carer who is committed to making a real difference in the life of a vulnerable person while working within a family home environment. If you have the experience, warmth, and professionalism this role requires, we would love to hear from you.
