The Role
You will work alongside our existing office coordinator, technicians and company director. Your principal responsibility will be ensuring that new enquiries are handled professionally, followed up consistently and converted into booked work.
You will also help improve our online presence by creating content, updating website pages and monitoring the performance of our search engine optimisation and other marketing activity.
No experience in the pest control industry needed.
Key responsibilities
Inbound sales and customer enquiries
- Answer incoming telephone, email and website enquiries.
- Establish the customer’s requirements and explain the most appropriate service.
- Provide prices, prepare quotations and arrange surveys where necessary.
- Ensure customers receive prompt and professional communication throughout the sales process.
- Work closely with the office coordinator and technicians to ensure a smooth handover from enquiry to service delivery.
Digital marketing
- Plan and create regular social media content.
- Write and publish useful website articles, service pages and location pages.
- Update existing website content to keep it accurate and commercially effective.
- Add internal links between relevant website pages.
- Help optimise page titles, descriptions, headings and written content.
- Monitor website traffic, enquiries and organic search performance.
- Use tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console to identify opportunities.
- Help manage and update the company’s Google Business Profiles.
- Review competitor activity and identify potential content or service opportunities.
- Assist with email campaigns, customer communications and review-generation activity.
- Coordinate with external website, SEO or advertising providers where required.
- Produce a straightforward monthly report covering enquiries, conversions and marketing activity.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will be confident speaking to customers, commercially aware and highly organised.
You should ideally have:
- Experience in telephone sales, inbound sales, customer service or account management.
- A confident and professional telephone manner.
- Strong written English and the ability to produce clear, engaging content.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- A practical understanding of digital marketing and SEO.
- Experience updating websites.
- Confidence interpreting basic marketing and sales performance data.
Desirable experience
- Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- WordPress or a similar content management system.
- Canva or other content-creation software.
- Local SEO and Google Business Profiles.
- Writing website blogs, service pages or location-based content.
- Managing quotation pipelines and reporting conversion rates.
Previous pest-control experience is not required. Full training will be provided on our services, pricing and operational processes.
