Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental examinations and assess oral health status of patients
- Perform preventive treatments such as scaling, polishing, and fluoride applications
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning alongside dentists
- Utilise CAD software for designing dental restorations or appliances when required
- Operate medical imaging equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and personalised care routines
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with practice protocols
- Support the dental team during procedures, ensuring adherence to infection control standards
- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology and techniques to enhance patient care
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygiene Therapist or similar role within a clinical setting
- Proficiency with CAD software relevant to dental applications
- Experience operating medical imaging devices such as digital X-ray systems
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly oral and maxillofacial structures
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple patient cases effectively
