Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety, and inspire a team of culinary professionals. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality food preparation.
- Oversee food production, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Manage all aspects of food safety and hygiene compliance in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels, minimise waste, and control food costs effectively.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote professional development and teamwork.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times.
- Ensure excellent customer service by supporting serving staff when necessary and addressing guest feedback promptly.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts to optimise productivity while adhering to labour regulations.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff towards common goals.
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Experience in menu development, cost control, and inventory management.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, suppliers, and management.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to serve guests courteously when required, maintaining a professional demeanour at all times.
