Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Assurance Officer to join our domiciliary care team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of care delivered to our service users. This role requires a strong background in domiciliary care, excellent knowledge of care planning and risk management, and the ability to support and monitor care staff in the community.
The role is a combination of home-based and office-based working and will involve regular visits to service users in their own homes.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within domiciliary care.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Aged 25 years or over for company vehicle insurance purposes.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to service users' homes.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practice standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills and experience using care management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits across the service.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement and support the implementation of action plans.
- Ensure high standards of care are consistently maintained.
Care Plans and Risk Assessments
- Complete, review, and update person-centred care plans.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive risk assessments.
- Ensure all care plans and risk assessments are current, accurate, and reflect the needs of the service user.
- Amend documentation as required following reviews, incidents, or changes in circumstances.
Service User Assessments and Consent
- Meet with service users and their families to gather information and assess care needs.
- Obtain and record informed consent where required.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of Mental Capacity legislation and Lasting Power of Attorney (Health and Welfare and Property and Financial Affairs).
- Ensure decisions are made and documented in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Staff Monitoring and Support
- Carry out spot checks on field-based care workers.
- Complete competency assessments and observations of care staff.
- Provide constructive feedback and support staff development.
- Work closely with care coordinators, supervisors, and management to maintain service quality.
Auditing and Compliance
- Audit care records, care plans, risk assessments, and other service documentation.
- Ensure all records are compliant, accurate, and up to date.
- Monitor and report on quality performance indicators.
- Support preparation for inspections and quality reviews.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in a quality assurance, senior care, field care supervisor, or similar role within domiciliary care.
- Knowledge of care planning, risk assessments, safeguarding, and person-centred care.
- Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Lasting Power of Attorney.
- Experience conducting audits, spot checks, and competency assessments.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care.
- Experience of CQC inspections and compliance processes.
- Training or qualification in quality assurance or auditing.

Pay: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
