Mechanical Fitter/Welder
Location : Bury, Greater Manchester (with travel to customer sites)
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter/Welder to join our growing engineering team. We specialise in mechanical installation, maintenance and repair work within the water and wastewater industry, working pumping stations, water treatment works and associated infrastructure.
This is a varied role involving both workshop fabrication and site work. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment while working safely and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical installation, maintenance and repair of pumps, pipework, valves and associated equipment.
- Fabrication and welding of mild and stainless steel components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Carry out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on customer sites.
- Install and align mechanical equipment.
- Work safely in accordance with site procedures and health and safety legislation.
- Complete job sheets and report work carried out.
Requirements
- Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Welder or Maintenance engineer.
- MIG/TIG experience preferable but not essential.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Full UK driving license.
- CSCS card preferred.
- Experience with water industry would be an advantage, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Good problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.

Pay: £25.00-£35.00 per hour
