Job Overview
Big Van World Limited is seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our busy and growing workshop team. This is a hands-on role ideal for a Light Commercial Vehicle Mechanic who enjoys working under the bonnet, diagnosing faults and preparing vehicles to the highest standards.
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of light commercial vehicles, ensuring every vehicle meets our quality and safety standards before going to sale. As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for reliability, professionalism and excellent customer service.
With over 200 vehicles per month processed through our workshops, this role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality mechanical work.
The working schedule is Monday to Friday only, no weekends necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on light commercial vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Undertake vehicle inspections and pre-sale preparation
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and industry standards
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship
About You
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Commercial Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic who:
- Has proven experience working on light commercial vehicles or vans
- Has strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and automotive electrics
- Is competent in all aspects of vehicle mechanics
- Has excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Can work independently as well as part of a team
- Is comfortable working in a busy workshop environment
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Good understanding of automotive electrical systems
- Ability to follow instructions, processes and health & safety guidelines
- Full UK driving licence
- NVQ Level 3
