Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Joinery Business Manager to oversee and optimise our joinery operations.
The Business Manager will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of all business operations. This includes overseeing client enquiries, job programming, procurement, finances, and administration. You will work closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure all projects are running efficiently and to a high standard, while providing a central point of coordination across clients, suppliers, and internal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle walk-in clients and oversee client communications from enquiry to job completion.
- Lead weekly production meetings.
- Manage all office operations: job scheduling, procurement, job tracking.
- Coordinate resource allocation across business functions.
- Line management of workshop team.
- Prepare and issue quotations.
- Manage invoicing, including issuing, signing off, and follow-up.
- Monitor project budgets and profitability, ensuring jobs stay on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain accurate records for compliance, financials, and project history.
- Ensure workshop/site health & safety, insurances, and regulations are up to date.
- Generate cost reports for completed projects.
- Identify and implement process improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Support the owner in daily operations and long-term planning.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in business operations in a joinery background.
- Proven experience in estimating in a joinery background.
- Proven experience in Joinery (Essential)
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable dealing with clients and suppliers.
- Familiarity with project management tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities.
