Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to lead our sales initiatives and expand our market presence. In this pivotal role, you will develop strategic sales plans, foster strong client relationships, and identify new business opportunities to drive growth. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will inspire your team and contribute significantly to our company’s success. The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, highly organized, and proficient in targeted and developing new customers for our foundries and machine shops.
Primarily based at Arrow Butler Castings in Chesterfield, you will also help develop engineering sales for group companies PT Engineers in Rugby, and Fowler & Holden in Grimsby.
Extensive experience of engineering sales in the UK is essential, ideally with aluminium castings knowledge too.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company targets and expand the customer base.
- Engage proactively with customers and prospects, by telephone, email and very importantly in person.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, and market research.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while continuously seeking ways to upsell and cross-sell services.
- Develop customers for each of our sites and facilities and grow cross-site synergy.
- Create proposals and work with technical managers to price jobs and create attractive and professional quotations.
- Utilize CRM software to track leads, manage customer data, and generate sales reports for strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns that enhance brand visibility and attract potential clients.
- Conduct regular market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Experience
- Proven track record of success in sales or business development roles within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing a sales team with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Proficiency in platforms for pipeline management and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Knowledge of best practices and strategies for maximizing customer engagement.
- Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable plans.
- Prior experience in developing strategic partnerships and closing high-value deals is highly desirable.

Pay: £48,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
