Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September
We’re looking for a compassionate, patient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment this September. This role involves working closely with children who have autism and additional learning needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
About the Role:
You’ll play a key part in creating a nurturing, structured and engaging learning space for students with special educational needs. Your experience will help shape personalised learning plans and ensure every child feels understood, supported and safe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with autism and other special needs through personalised learning strategies
- Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support plans
- Create a calm, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
- Work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals
- Use a range of SEN‑friendly teaching approaches to engage learners
- Track and record progress, achievements and behaviour
- Provide consistent, caring support throughout the school day
Experience Required:
- Essential: Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to support children’s emotional regulation and learning
- Background in SEN or education is highly desirable
- Enhanced DBS required
