The Kithmore, formerly known as the Ardgowan is opening summer 2026. Set across two Georgian townhouses the hotel will feature 44 bedrooms and a 60-cover restaurant and bar. The start date is in line with our opening on 15th June.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting culinary staff, and ensuring smooth operational flow. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy restaurant or hotel setting, with the potential for career development within the hospitality industry. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Supporting kitchen staff with organisational duties such as restocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness of work areas
- Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed
- Maintaining a tidy and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assisting in setting up dining areas and serving stations when required
- Supporting the overall smooth operation of the kitchen during service hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is desirable
- Familiarity with kitchen safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary sector
- Experience in serving or hospitality roles is beneficial but not mandatory
