Summary

This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, offering a rate of £425 per day under an umbrella arrangement. The primary objective is to spearhead the Council's Building Safety Programme, ensuring adherence to all pertinent building, fire, and health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will provide both strategic and operational leadership for building safety initiatives, compliance programs, resident engagement efforts, and regulatory reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring the Council fulfills its responsibilities under the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and related legislation.
Responsibilities

Oversee the management and execution of the Building Safety Programme.

Ensure adherence to all applicable building safety, fire safety, and health and safety laws.

Create and implement systems for identifying, evaluating, and managing building safety risks.

Track program performance, including budgets, timelines, and project outcomes.

Supervise external contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure compliance and effective contract performance.

Identify, manage, and escalate program risks and issues as necessary.

Prepare and present reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in delivering building safety programs, compliance projects, or regulatory initiatives.

Proven track record in managing projects within budget, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Experience in leading teams and managing performance.

Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies, such as the Building Safety Regulator and Fire & Rescue Services.

Experience in managing contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications Required

Relevant professional experience in Building Safety, Fire Safety, Housing Compliance, Property Services, or a related field.
Additional Information

Working hours are 35 hours per week.

Payments are made on a bi-weekly schedule.
