The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Project Buyer to join our Procurement team in Plymouth. This is an exciting new opportunity to take ownership of procurement projects from concept through to completion, working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and our global purchasing network.
As a developing role within the business, you'll have the chance to shape processes, influence best practice, and play a key role in supporting future growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement projects from initiation through to successful delivery.
- Manage and coordinate activities across multiple business functions.
- Support supplier negotiations alongside Commodity Buyers.
- Source and qualify new suppliers and capabilities.
- Develop project plans and monitor progress against objectives and deadlines.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation plans.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Lead procurement activities relating to Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Work collaboratively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and global purchasing teams.
Qualifications & Experience

- Demonstrable experience within a purchasing or buying role.
- Degree qualified desirable, but not essential.
- CIPS Level 4 qualification, or willingness to study towards it.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and negotiation capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using MRP systems, ideally SAP.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.

This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 39 hours per week.
