Overview
The ClockTower Café is a vibrant community hub known for great coffee, quality food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Café Manager to lead our front-of-house team, ensure smooth daily operations, and help shape creative initiatives that bring new energy and customers through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and motivate the café team to deliver exceptional service and maintain a positive working culture.
- Create and manage staff rotas to ensure appropriate coverage during peak and off-peak periods.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily café operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards.
- Manage ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships to maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Monitor financial performance, including daily takings and cost control, reporting regularly to management.
Product & Offer Development
- Work closely with the leadership team to develop seasonal offers, events, and promotions that drive footfall and customer engagement.
- Contribute ideas for menu development, special events, and local partnerships that reflect the café’s identity and community focus.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation for both products and the café environment.
Customer Experience & Community Engagement
- Foster a welcoming environment where every guest feels valued and well cared for.
- Gather and use customer feedback to improve the café experience.
- Represent The Clock Tower Café within the local community, driving initiatives that strengthen customer loyalty and brand awareness.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality management role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, rotas, and supplier relationships effectively.
- Passion for creating memorable customer experiences.
- A proactive, creative mindset with the confidence to implement new ideas.
