Role Purpose:
As a Packaging Developer, you’ll drive the creation of innovative, high-quality packaging solutions that balance creativity, sustainability, and commercial impact. Based in Kiveton, with elements of travel between sites in Yorkshire to London, this is your chance to work at pace, influence key stakeholders, and play a visible role in delivering packaging that combines the technical aspects of glass packaging, Hot-filling processes & highly automated production lines with the creative elements of packaging design solutions for NPD products across Ambient grocery sauces to chilled dips.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and deliver innovative packaging solutions from concept through to launch, aligned to customer briefs and project timelines
- Collaborate with suppliers, NPD, and cross-functional teams to ensure packaging is technically sound, commercially viable, and operationally feasible
- Lead packaging activity in project meetings, managing stakeholders, tracking progress, and mitigating risks
- Support customer engagement and innovation sessions through compelling presentations, samples, and mock-ups
- Ensure all packaging meets regulatory, quality, food safety, and sustainability standards
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform forward-thinking packaging strategies
- Drive best practice processes, influence stakeholders, and ensure efficient, effective ways of working
- Manage cost inputs and supplier relationships to deliver value-driven and innovative packaging solutions
What we’re looking for:
- Graduate calibre, with at least two years served within the food packaging industry
- Enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical; experienced in requesting and reviewing packaging costings
- Strong customer service values and a keen sense of urgency with the ability to think on your feet
- An effective communicator with good presentation skills
- Creative, enjoys colour and graphic design.
- Technically minded & confident knowledge in at least one substrate field relevant to food manufacturing e.g. Glass, Rigid and flexible plastics, packaging requirements for hot-filling processes.
