Operations Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to join a leading international organisation on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical or electrical engineer with strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines to develop their career within an innovative and forward-thinking environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and optimising customer installations, helping clients improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions and work towards their Net Zero objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on customer installations across Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and safely.
- Undertake reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintain and service gas and diesel engine systems and associated equipment.
- Monitor and optimise the performance of customer installations.
- Identify potential faults and maintenance requirements before they develop into major issues.
- Work closely with customers to ensure high levels of service and customer satisfaction.
- Support the optimisation of operational processes to improve productivity and reduce unnecessary time and material usage.
- Complete maintenance reports, service records and relevant documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures, technical standards and company requirements.
- Travel to customer sites throughout Milton Keynes and the surrounding area as required.
- Work independently while also supporting the wider engineering and operations team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve system reliability and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Mechanical or electrical engineering background.
- Strong practical experience working with gas and/or diesel engines.
- Experience in planned and reactive maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and preventative maintenance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and undertake overtime when required.
