Overview
The Ark Breakfast and After School Club are based at St Bede CofE Primary School in Winchester. We are an independent, not for profit organisation providing before and after school care for children aged 4-11 years. We strive to provide high quality childcare within a relaxed but stimulating environment that promotes belonging, friendship and creativity. We understand that the children in our care are unique individuals who can expect to be respected and nurtured.
Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the After School Leader to prepare and organise appropriate play opportunities for each morning, directing team members to deliver the activities
- Manage daily attendance registers and complete all relevant administration, communicating effectively with parents, carers and school staff at all times
- Understand and ensure the club operates to Ofsted and The Ark’s policies and procedures including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Data Protection and Food Hygiene
- Encourage children’s independence and self-esteem and fair and caring behaviour among the children
- Promote positive Behaviour Management, Diversity and Inclusion ensuring the needs of our SEN children and EYFS children are met Organise and carry out inductions, supervisions, appraisals and training for team members in conjunction with the Leadership team
- Work within an agreed budget to order food, resources and equipment appropriately Promote parental involvement and support of the club by creating social media posts and contributing to Newsletters.
- To be the responsible named member of staff for The Ark for Health and Safety, risk assessments, Fire drills, accident and incident tracking and First aid. Working with the Business Manager to ensure The Ark is compliant, that paperwork is in order and resources are stocked and purchased
- Attend Leadership meetings
Qualifications.
Relevant supervisory/management experience within a childcare setting
Relevant childcare experience and a thorough understanding of the EYFS framework,
equal opportunities and special educational needs.
Able to interact well with children, parents and team members and to build a strong
working relationship with the school.
Be creative with good knowledge of a range of recreational and physical past- time
activities for children to participate in.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to use IT systems (email, excel and word).
Desirable Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in childcare Valid Paediatric First Aid qualification or is willing to undertake qualification.
Hours of work:
- 11.25 hours per week, term time only. 7.00am-9.15am plus 3 additional admin hours per week. £33,000 to £35,000 pa full time equivalent depending on experience. Actual £8,750 to £9,300 pa pro rata. Opportunity to also work at The After School Club to increase hours.
Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
