Job Summary
We are looking for an IT Manager to take ownership of the Company's IT estate at a pivotal point in its growth. The role sits at the centre of a growing organisation, balancing day-to-day reliability of systems on an active mine site with longer-term planning for infrastructure, applications and security. You will work alongside an appointed Managed Service Provider, who supports service delivery and security/compliance, while retaining ownership of strategy & governance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the IT strategy and roadmap, ensuring systems, infrastructure and technology investments support current operations, future growth and site expansion.
- Oversee the performance, reliability and security of the Company's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements.
- Lead the Company's cybersecurity programme, ensuring appropriate controls, policies, procedures and regulatory compliance are maintained.
- Manage the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP), holding them accountable for service delivery, security performance and value for money.
- Own the delivery of IT projects and system improvements, including infrastructure upgrades, platform migrations, business applications and new technology implementations.
- Ensure the effective operation, support and ongoing development of core business systems, including ERP and specialist operational applications.
- Provide leadership for IT support services, ensuring end users have reliable technology, appropriate training and a strong awareness of security best practices.
- Build, lead and develop the internal IT function, managing resources, budgets and stakeholder relationships to meet business objectives.
Experience
- 8+ years' IT experience overall, including at least 3-5 years in an IT management or senior technical leadership capacity; industrial, mining or heavy manufacturing environments preferred.
- A track record of managing people, budgets and vendor costs, not just technology.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience directing an outsourced MSP relationship.
- Networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, Firewalls, Wi-Fi, Switching, Routing, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience in Intune Device Management, Microsoft Office 365 , Active Directory, Prox Mox
- Cyber Essentials and broader security good practice
- Working knowledge of backup and disaster recovery design and testing.
- Genuine project delivery experience.
