Permissum Care is opening an exciting new children's residential service in Ayr, providing specialist care and support to children and young people with neurodiverse needs.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate Depute Manager who wants to be part of building a service centred around outstanding care, strong leadership and positive outcomes for young people.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced Registered Manager to establish a high-quality home from the very beginning.
About the Role
Our Depute Manager role is designed to provide the perfect balance between leadership and direct practice.
Working a rolling rota of 5 days over 7, you will benefit from a combination of:
- Protected management and office time
- Direct support shifts alongside children and young people
- Coaching and developing staff in practice
- Supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be visible, approachable and actively involved in delivering excellent care.
Key Responsibilities
As Depute Manager you will:
- Support the Registered Manager with the operational management of the home.
- Lead, motivate and inspire the staff team.
- Role model excellent childcare practice.
- Support children and young people with neurodiverse needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and communication differences.
- Ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care is delivered consistently.
- Complete regular quality assurance audits and monitoring.
- Carry out staff supervisions and performance support meetings.
- Support induction, mentoring and development of new staff.
- Drive continuous service improvement and implement best practice.
- Ensure accurate recording and high-quality documentation.
- Promote positive relationships with families and professionals.
- Participate in the on-call rota where required.
- Maintain compliance with legislation, Care Inspectorate requirements, Health and Social Care Standards and company policies.
- Contribute towards inspections and quality assurance processes.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about improving children's lives and developing others.
You will have:
Essential
- Experience working within a Children's Residential Care setting.
- Experience leading or supervising teams.
- SVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) (or equivalent).
- HNC in a relevant Health or Social Care qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Confidence completing supervisions, audits and quality assurance.
- A genuine passion for achieving positive outcomes for children.
Desirable
- Working towards or completed SVQ Level 4 Social Services & Healthcare.
- Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Knowledge of the The Promise, Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), Care Inspectorate standards, GIRFEC, SHANARRI and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience supporting services through inspection or registration.
Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
