The salary for this role is up to £2,000 per month. Candidates based in the UK will be offered £2,000 per month, while candidates based outside the UK may be offered up to £2,000 per month, depending on their location and experience.
As an early-stage startup currently in the process of raising investment, our budget is limited at this stage. We appreciate that this salary may be lower than what you're currently seeking. However, we're looking for individuals who are excited by the opportunity to join us early, make a meaningful impact, and grow alongside the business.
Our intention is that, following a successful funding round, we will review salaries with the aim of bringing them more in line with market rates and your salary expectations. While we can't guarantee specific figures today, rewarding and retaining our team as the company grows is a key priority for us.

The Role
As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, designing data models, and ensuring data integrity across our platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers to ensure our data infrastructure supports business needs and fuels innovation.
Your Impact
- Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to handle large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
- Build and optimize data models, ensuring performance and scalability.
- Design and implement robust web scraping and web crawling solutions to extract structured and unstructured data from online sources.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate data workflows with APIs and services.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency across systems.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to detect and resolve data issues proactively.
- Support analytics and AI teams with structured, clean, and accessible datasets.
- Continuously improve data infrastructure by adopting best practices in engineering, testing, and deployment.
Requirements and Skills
- 1+ years of experience in data engineering, data pipelines, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
- Experience with data pipeline frameworks like Apache Airflow, dbt, or Luigi.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data services (S3, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
- Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with web scraping frameworks and tools (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, Playwright).
- Knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or similar is a plus.
- Understanding of API integration, version control (Git), and modern development workflows.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Next Level
- Experience building data infrastructure for AI or machine learning projects.
- Expertise in handling large-scale, real-time data streams.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Knowledge of Web3 or blockchain data is a plus.
