Purpose of the Role
To provide an efficient warehouse service to all areas of the business through the warehouse, goods inwards and despatch. Ensure all goods received and despatched are correctly logged and accounted for, moved to the correct location and protected from damage and deterioration through proper storage.
This is a full time role, based in Tadcaster
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Locate and pick components / items for sub module build as per build lists and priorities
Loading / unloading of Goods In/ Out
Packing and moving of goods for deliveries to internal and external locations
Maintaining accurate stock records including stock counting
Conduct job clear up
Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment at all times
Shipping of items to customers/supplier, both domestic and international
Outputs/Deliverables
Unloading and loading of all deliveries and collections within the goods inwards, despatch and warehouse department.
All movement of items in and out of warehouse should be properly tracked, recorded and accepted at its destination. This will ensure that there is always an accurate record of items in the warehouse and that any missing items can be identified quickly and tracked.
Prepare sub-module items for use in the assembly of machines ensuring correct quantity of items is selected/ picked. Ensure product preservation is followed and all parts are labelled.
Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives, making recommendations on changes where efficiencies can be identified.
Prepare goods for transportation, applying protective wrapping and palletising (Sustained 6S).
Help maintain a safe, tidy and organised warehouse working environment.
Ship parts/machines to customers and suppliers using our approved couriers.
Manage process flow daily to ensure the timely and efficient movement of parts and kits between pick up and drop off points
Carry out cycle counting to ensure accurate stock records.
Work with colleagues to ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001 and OHSAS18001. Support a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement by complying with SOPs and using correct PPE.
Conduct accurate and efficient job clear up.
Knowledge and Experience
Awareness of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)
Inventory management including cycle counting and obsolete stock process.
Shipping using UPS, DHL, Fedex and others
Checking, picking, packing and despatching goods within a warehouse environment
Attention to detail and quality
Ability to work under pressure
Flexible and well organised
Loading and unloading using various lifting equipment and techniques
Ability to prioritise work to meet multiple deadlines.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
Current clean driving license - Essential
Shipping experience - Advantageous
FLT Certification - Advantageous
Overhead Crane Certificate - Advantageous
Microsoft Office Packages - Essential
Excellent communication skills - Essential
