Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. The position requires a valid <PERSON> driver’s licence and previous experience in commercial driving or warehouse operations.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vans to transport goods to designated destinations within scheduled timeframes
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as organising stock, heavy lifting, and inventory management when required
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with commercial driving background
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area of operation
