As the Estates Financial & Technical Administrative Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial and administrative functions of the Estates and Services Department. You will coordinate a broad range of financial activities, including purchase orders, invoicing, budget monitoring, financial reporting and maintaining accurate records, ensuring all processes comply with University Financial Regulations while supporting the successful delivery of both operational and capital projects.
Working closely with colleagues across Estates and Services, Finance, IT and external suppliers, you will be a key point of contact for financial administration. You will provide timely information, resolve queries, support contract payments and professional fees, contribute to budget planning and monitoring, and produce accurate management information to support effective decision-making.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help improve financial and administrative processes, maintain high-quality data, support audits and reporting, and contribute to the ongoing development of systems and services. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will build strong relationships across the University and play an important part in delivering an efficient, responsive and customer-focused Estates and Services Department.

Educated to A Level, NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent qualification), with demonstrable financial and administrative experience.
- Experience of processing financial transactions, budget monitoring, purchase orders, invoicing and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Experience of analysing data and producing accurate financial reports and management information for stakeholders.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and advanced Excel, with the ability to manipulate data from financial systems and databases.
- Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and build effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of using finance systems within the higher education sector.
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) or currently working towards an accountancy qualification.
- Experience of maintaining databases, improving record management systems and supporting audits or compliance activities.
- Experience of Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365 and business systems such as works management or asset management systems (e.g. Planon).
- Undergraduate degree or recognised IT qualification (e.g. ECDL/CLAIT), with experience of collaborative customer service in a complex organisation.

Salary Grade 5 - Starting from £29,588 rising to £ 33,002 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Please note that as of April 2024, there has been a change in the UK’s sponsorship threshold. Regrettably as the salary for this role falls beneath this, you will not be eligible for sponsorship therefore your application will automatically be rejected.
