Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated self-employed Nursery Cleaner to provide cover during periods when our regular cleaning staff are on annual leave or absent. This is a flexible, night-shift role, ideal for someone looking for occasional work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the nursery, ensuring the premises are ready for children and staff each day.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to their own vehicle, and hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate.
Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough cleaning of nursery rooms, play areas, and communal spaces during night hours.
- Sanitise toys, furniture, and equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and other sanitary facilities.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as required.
- Restock cleaning supplies and ensure cleaning equipment is maintained.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns to management promptly.
Essential Requirements
- Self-employed and responsible for your own tax and National Insurance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own reliable vehicle.
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial, or similar roles.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relating to cleaning.
