Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for an Accounts Administrator to join a busy and friendly finance department based in Lincoln.This is a varied role covering both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, making it a great opportunity for someone with strong administration skills who is looking to develop their experience within finance.Working closely with the wider finance team, you will be responsible for processing supplier and customer invoices, resolving queries, maintaining accurate records and supporting credit control and other general accounts activities.The RoleYour responsibilities will include:
- Scanning and processing supplier invoices into the ERP system accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Posting invoices, credit notes, credit card transactions and expense claims, ensuring they are correctly coded and authorised.
- Matching invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes and investigating any discrepancies.
- Liaising with the Supply Chain team to resolve supplier invoice queries.
- Dealing with internal and external payment queries by telephone and email.
- Completing monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
- Setting up new suppliers and maintaining existing supplier information within the ERP system.
- Supporting Accounts Receivable with the processing and issuing of customer invoices and credit notes.
- Setting up new customers and credit accounts, liaising with the Sales and Customer Service teams where required.
- Allocating customer payments against remittance information.
- Contacting customers regarding overdue balances and supporting the wider credit control process.
- Assisting with fleet administration and communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding company vehicles.
- Supporting payroll with mileage records and other administrative requirements.
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team and assisting with ad hoc duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and comfortable working in a busy environment. You will ideally have:
- Previous administration experience.
- GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence dealing with suppliers and customers by telephone and email.
- A proactive approach with the ability to investigate and resolve queries.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A willingness to learn and develop within an accounts environment.
- A flexible and collaborative approach to working as part of a team.
Previous experience within an accounts, finance, purchase ledger, sales ledger or credit control environment would be advantageous, although strong administrators looking to develop a career within finance will also be considered.This is an excellent opportunity to join an established finance team in a varied position offering exposure across several areas of the accounts function.
Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
