Trade Recruit is proud to be recruiting on behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Handsworth, Birmingham for an experienced and customer-focused Optical Assistant to join a well-established independent optical practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Optical Assistant who enjoys delivering outstanding patient care within a busy practice environment.
The successful candidate will primarily be based at the Acocks Green branch but must be flexible to provide occasional cover at the Handsworth practice during periods of annual leave, sickness, or increased business demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey
- Assist patients in selecting suitable frames and lenses based on their prescription and lifestyle
- Dispense a range of lenses, including single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses
- Carry out frame adjustments, fittings and minor repairs
- Book appointments and manage the practice diary
- Process NHS and private paperwork accurately
- Support the Optometrist and wider practice team to ensure clinics run efficiently
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and stock presentation
- Provide occasional cover at the Acocks Green practice when required
Essential
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Optical Assistant
- Confident dispensing a wide range of lenses
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A friendly, professional and patient-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
- Flexibility to travel between the Handsworth and Acocks Green practices when required
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in a busy independent optical practice
- Knowledge of NHS optical services
