Dunbar Education is proud to be working with a supportive primary school in the Dudley area who are seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About You:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour (school or alternative provision experience is desirable).
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children’s needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
- (Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.)
The Role:
- Support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage positively in learning and school life.
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement tailored strategies and interventions.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils build confidence, self-regulation, and social skills.
- Create a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and understood.
