Job description
Tower Hill Nursery is looking for an experienced cook. Working 30 hours per week 6 hours per day Monday to Friday every week to provide fresh, nourishing meals that meet dietary needs. The suitable candidate will have a good knowledge of a food management system and excellent knowledge and understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene. During holiday periods the hours drop to 20 per week 4 hours per day Monday to Friday. We will consider Term Time Only.
Experience: Must have at least 2 years experience in similar setting. You must hold current Food Hygiene certificate, First Aid Certificate and an awareness of food allergies; be aware and adhere to Health & Safety at work(Risk assessments, CoSHH, RIDDOR etc).
Duties:
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to Health & Safety standards
- Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as required throughout the shift
- Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
- Menu planning
- Recording food temperatures
