About the Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and hands-on Warehouse & Fulfilment Manager to lead our warehouse and fulfilment operation at our Liphook site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small team of Warehouse & Fulfilment Assistants while ensuring the efficient flow of goods throughout the business.
This is a key operational role, requiring strong leadership, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset. You will oversee goods receiving, order fulfilment, inventory control, and stock movements to support both customer deliveries and internal manufacturing operations, while maintaining the exceptional standards required by our BRCGS AA+ accredited facility. As a hands-on manager, you will also be expected to operate forklift trucks as part of your day to day responsibilities and support warehouse team during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a small team of Warehouse & Fulfilment Assistants.
- Manage all Goods In processes, ensuring accurate receipt, inspection and system recording of inbound stock.
- Oversee Goods Out operations, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Manage consolidation pallet fulfilment and direct-to-consumer (DTC) fulfilment operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse technology and stock management systems.
- Ensure robust stock control through regular cycle counts, investigations and inventory reconciliations.
- Operate and promote First In, First Out (FIFO) stock management principles.
- Prepare and return stock efficiently to support manufacturing production lines.
- Ensure warehouse organisation, cleanliness and operational standards are maintained at all times.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.
- Maintain the operational standards expected within our BRCGS AA+ accredited environment.
- Monitor KPIs including picking accuracy, inventory accuracy, fulfilment performance and productivity.
- Support operational planning during peak periods and contribute to wider business improvement projects.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience managing a warehouse or fulfilment operation.
- Experience leading and developing warehouse teams.
- Valid counterbalance forklift truck licence
- Strong understanding of inventory management and stock control.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems or similar warehouse technologies.
- Good understanding of FIFO stock management principles.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to motivate and engage a team.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Experience within a BRCGS accredited environment.
- Knowledge of food, consumer goods or manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or production stock movements.
- Lean or continuous improvement experience.
