LiveYou is looking for a female PA to assist a hard-working young woman with disabilities living in North Tyneside to reach her full potential. From aspects of personal care to days out accessing the community, this could be your opportunity to have a positive impact on a disabled person’s everyday life, whilst also developing your own skills set.
As a PA you will assist our client with daily tasks and any essential care she requires to thrive both personally and professionally. She is just as any other normal person is, but needs a little extra support to help her live the life that she would like to!
We are currently looking for a PA to join our client’s team on a full-time basis, with a minimum of three, 12 hour shifts and weekends to be worked on a rotational basis with the rest of our client's team. There may also be opportunities to work overtime and also travel with our client.
About our Client
Our client is a creative, caring individual who works closely with various organisations to create content advocating for Disability Rights. Outside of work, she loves to visit the beach, see friends and family, try new restaurants and food, and explore new areas of the North East that she as of yet hasn't been to. She is also accompanied by her medical assistance dog (and typical black labrador), Lena, who loves nothing more than going for walks and helping our Client access new opportunities safely.
Our Client also has a passion for writing, following her English Language and Linguistics BA at the University of Brighton.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the client in a wide range of essential support activities including; elements of personal care, assisting with medication.
- Assist with help with domestic tasks such as maintaining a clean living space, preparing food.
- Support our client with accessing the community.
- Be flexible and creative to help minimise the barriers that people with disabilities face.
- Be prepared to assist the client on trips away from home. You would travel with the client in her vehicle to and overnight stays, to ensure she is able to attend important appointments, work from different locations, make the most of opportunities and be supported to attend social events with family and friends in different parts of the UK.
- Help our client plan effectively and be forward thinking. Our client likes to stay organised. An ideal PA would assist our client in managing her diary, assisting the client at work through note taking, proof- reading, travel, coming up with creative ideas and assist in management of medication supply, ensure she is on time for all planned appointments and so much more!
- Maintain a positive outlook on life. With spending a significant amount of time with our client, PAs should act as a positive influence on the client's life and encourage her to engage with the community while also allowing for balance and encouraging rest on poor health days.
- Support the client to set and reach achievable goals by organising and implementing plans to progress with her career, hobbies and social life.

- £14.85 per hour starting wage

About You - Essential Attributes:
- Be trustworthy, confident and have a positive outlook on life.
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be flexible and have the ability to adapt quickly to new situations/environments that come with living with disabilities.
- A strong desire to help others, you will clearly see the impact you will have every day so if you possess this, this is the role for you!
- Full UK driving license (including manual)
- Be reliable and dependable. This is a key asset for the best PAs, to be a solid foundation for the client to build their life - our client needs continuity.
About You - Desirable Attributes:
- Have a good sense of humour, our client is very sociable and enjoys having a laugh!
- Be confident around technology (our client relies on her PA’s to assist with admin tasks) - any additional skills such as use of specific software is greatly appreciated.
- Awareness of how to promote good mental health.
