About the Role
The Chakra Lounge is looking for an organized and energetic Functional Manager to run the daily floor
operations of our Buxton location. This is a practical, ground-level management role focused on keeping
our service fast, our environment clean, and our food quality consistently high. The ideal candidate will
take ownership of day-to-day café functionality, team scheduling, food safety compliance, and stock
control.

Daily Operations & Floor Flow: Actively run shift floor activities, ensuring the café is fully prepared
for morning openings and properly secured during evening closing steps.
Staff Rotas & Scheduling: Design, optimize, and manage the weekly staff rota to ensure appropriate
shift coverage across busy peak periods while staying within labor budgets.
Food Quality & Prep: Supervise food and drink preparation on the floor to ensure presentation,
taste, and consistency match our established standards.
Allergy Safety & Cake Management: Monitor strict allergen controls across all menu items, display
cakes, and baked goods. Ensure cross-contamination guidelines are followed by staff and that clear
allergen information is visible and accurately communicated to guests.
Hygiene & Deep Cleaning: Govern and complete daily cleaning schedules, handle kitchen hygiene
checklists, and enforce strict environmental cleanliness standards across the entire front-of-house
and kitchen space.
Stock Controls & Vendor Ordering: Count inventory levels, order food ingredients, specialty items,
and cakes regularly, while managing wastage metrics to support healthy margin targets.
Cash Handling: Oversee daily cash reconciliations, manage standard till system operations, and
securely log daily sales figures.
Team Onboarding: Assist in showing new team members basic step-by-step service standards,
health routines, and keeping internal staff training records current.

Experience and Skills Required

Proven supervisory or functional management experience within a busy café, restaurant, or fast-
paced hospitality outlet.
Excellent front-of-house customer care skills with a welcoming, problem-solving mindset.
Strong leadership qualities with a natural ability to structure team shift patterns and keep staff
organized under pressure.
Practical understanding of food safety guidelines, kitchen cleaning schedules, and basic stock
inventory tools.
Clear knowledge of allergen safety practices, cross-contamination prevention, and food presentation.
Pay: £27,000.00-£74,000.00 per year
