A specialist provision in Southampton is seeking a Pastoral Support Assistant to join their team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism and associated behavioural challenges.
The setting supports young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support to engage successfully in education. Staff focus heavily on relationship building, emotional regulation and helping pupils develop the skills needed to thrive both in and out of school.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils throughout the school day
- Delivering mentoring and pastoral interventions
- Assisting with behaviour support plans
- Promoting positive engagement with learning
- Building trusted relationships with pupils
This role would particularly suit youth workers, support workers, behaviour mentors and sports coaches looking to transition into education.
