10:00 – 13:00 Monday to Tuesday- Play Camp
10:30-14:00 Monday to Wednesday- Sport Camp

Job purpose
Reading FC Community Trust delivers multi-activity camps for children and young people aged 5–19 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These camps take place every half term (excluding Christmas), providing a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
This summer, we're expanding our team and looking for enthusiastic, caring, and passionate individuals with experience in SEND. As a SEND Camp Worker, you’ll help create a safe and calming space where children can enjoy a variety of engaging sport and activity sessions. Support for pupils from sports coaches
- Support children with arrival and departure, including escorting them to and from transport. Assist with the morning routine, registration, and lunch arrangements. Help prepare children for daily activities and ensure snacks, drinks, and lunch are organised throughout the day.
- Support children take part in sporting activities put on by camp Head coach.
- Maintain and develop communication with parents in person. Be aware of the religious beliefs and culture of the family.
- Support the management of behaviour of the children.
- Help set up activities throughout the day.
- Make sure children are supported around lunchtime.
- Be aware of medical, physical, and personal care needs. Take care of children when vomiting, dribbling and toileting and administer basic First Aid regarding the appropriate procedures.
- Have respect for children’s personal dignity and help to develop independence skills e.g. toileting.

- To follow the Trust’s Safeguarding policies and procedures, with the welfare of Children, young people and vulnerable adults being of paramount importance.
Main duties
- To support camp staff where necessary
- To support children with their needs whilst on the camp
- To represent Reading FC Community Trust in a professional manner
- To maintain high standards around safeguarding
- To maintain and follow Reading Football Club Community Trust’s policies and procedures (including but not limited to Safeguarding (Child Protection), Health, Safety, Equal Opportunity, Data Protection and Mental Health and Wellbeing).
- Ensure your DBS remains up to date by renewing it every 3 years, as well as ensuring all training requirements for your role are up to date.
- Be comfortable relating to pupils with a wide range of ability, from the ages of 5 – 19 years.
- Be physically fit including being able to spend time working on the floor with pupils for extended periods and be fit enough to run after, and catch up with, any children who run off/bolt to make sure they do not put themselves in any danger.
- Have respect for our pupils and ensure that they are always treated with dignity.
- Have a non-confrontational approach to behaviour and be able to implement behaviour management strategies in line with Trust policy.
