Job Title: Data Centre Security Supervisor
Location: Markham Lane, Duckmanton, Chesterfield, UK S44 5HS
Shift Hours: 42 hours per week, 4 on / 4 off mixed shifts
Hourly Rate: £15.50 per hr / £33,945+ PA (full time)
Role Overview
The Security Supervisor will assist the Security Operations Manager in ensuring an efficient security service across at the Era 4 site in supervising all aspects of security requirements and taking responsibility for ensuring smooth/professional day-to-day running of the clients security systems and functions as well as man management responsibilities. This role will encompass liaising on a daily basis with client and the Workrate management team.
Key Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the day to day operation of Security
- Be the first point of contact for the Security team and deal with day to day matters such as standards of dress, discipline, and conduct are met and adhered to

- Assist in on-going training to resident security teams and ensure all new security officers are fully trained and inducted to the site procedures and policies including CCTV, access control systems, deliveries and removals and intruder alarms
- Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods
- Report and significant security breaches to the Security OPS Manager and Era 4 Management team, record and produce detailed reports on these and all incidents to client management suite.
- Assist in review of Security Officers performance and development
- To assist in any security / equipment investigations, i.e. thefts, missing items, complaints etc.
- To be responsible for the process of site deliveries and removals, carrying out audits of deliveries and removals as and when required or instructed
- Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times by security and shipping personnel.
- Initialize call out procedures in the event of a crisis situation arising
- Ensure the security team are compliant with all relevant legislation on data protection.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in data center, critical infrastructure, or corporate security environments highly desirable
- Understanding of access control, compliance, and audit requirements (e.g., ISO standards, customer audits)
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to interact with enterprise clients professionally.
- Excellent diligence and situational awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-security environment with strict procedures.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA License (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding)
- Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office, access control systems, ticketing/logging tools)
- Ability to work 24/7 shift patterns (days and nights)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to assess risk and respond quickly to incidents.
- Eligibility to work in high-security environments (background checks will apply)
