Overall purpose and aims of role:
o To ensure that all materials are correctly supplied, prepared to the quoted specification and conveyed to the correct order runs on the shop floor as required using the moulding shop production plans.
Main duties and areas of responsibility: -
o To check the correct materials required for all shop orders and confirm their availability in the correct storage locations.
o To collect materials from the correct locations and confirm the labelling is correct.
o To confirm no damage or contamination has occurred before the material is released for use.
o To prepare the material as per the specification set using prepared data sheets, e.g. requires dying etc.
o To ensure that all hoppers, driers and containers are thoroughly cleaned before next material is issued.
o To clean and set up all master-batch dosing units making sure they are correctly calibrated.
o To ensure all material bins/driers are correctly labelled at the point material is added and maintained throughout its use.
o To ensure materials are correctly issued the Lachine/ Line / Shop Order.
o To maintain all material bins/hoppers are filled and kept full during jobs to ensure that materials do not run out inc. master batch units.
o To return all excess material to the allocated storage location, correctly packaged and labelled for collection and return to stores.
o To maintain a high level of housekeeping in all material storage and usage areas to ease identification of materials while reducing damage and contamination issue.
o To ensure all data and information is recorded correctly. Skills and attributes required :-
