The Role
We are looking for an organised, confident, and customer-focused Transport Operations Administrator to join our growing team in Loughborough. You will play a key role in keeping our transport operations running smoothly — supporting vehicle scheduling, booking management, compliance documentation, and day-to-day customer service.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who is confident on the phone, works well under pressure, and wants to build a career in transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate data entry and maintenance of booking and job records
- Managing incoming bookings and liaising with customers on requirements and updates
- Supporting vehicle and driver scheduling alongside the operations team
- Preparing, checking, and filing compliance documentation (e.g. POD records, vehicle/driver paperwork)
- Coordinating with customers by phone and email to provide updates, resolve queries, and ensure a high standard of service
- Working closely with drivers, warehouse staff, and other departments to keep jobs moving efficiently
- General administrative support for the Operations department
Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative, transport, or logistics role
- Confident and professional telephone manner
- Computer literate, with strong attention to detail
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible across our operating hours of 07:00–18:00
- Willing to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota approximately every 5–6 weeks (covered from home, with additional pay on top of salary)
Hours
For the first 6–8 weeks, hours will be fixed at 08:30–17:00 while you train and settle into the role.
After this, you will move onto a 3-week rolling rota covering the following shifts:
- 07:30–16:00
- 08:30–17:00
- 09:30–18:00
Desirable
- Experience with transport/warehouse management software.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements within road transport/logistics

Pay: £24,800.00-£26,000.00 per year
