Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Grounds Person to maintain and enhance the appearance of our 70-acre, 4-star hotel resort. This role is essential in ensuring the outdoor spaces reflect the high standards expected by our guests, providing a welcoming and visually appealing environment year-round.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, pathways, and outdoor recreational areas
- Follow all health & safety regulations and company procedures
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers
- Carry out planting, pruning, weeding, and seasonal landscaping tasks
- Ensure all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and free from hazards
- Assist with irrigation systems and basic repairs
- Support setup and breakdown of outdoor events (e.g. weddings, conferences)
- Monitor and report any issues relating to grounds, such as pest infestations or damaged infrastructure
- Assist with snow/ice clearance during winter months
Requirements
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of horticulture and seasonal plant care
- Ability to operate landscaping machinery safely
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant horticulture or landscaping qualification (e.g. RHS or NVQ)
- PA1/PA6 pesticide certification
- Full UK driving licence
