Youth Support Worker Wrexham
Just ONE is looking for compassionate, positive, and people-focused Youth Support Workers to join our team in Wrexham on a Zero Hours (Bank) contract.
This role offers flexible working with no guaranteed hours, making it ideal for those looking to work around other commitments while making a meaningful difference. There are opportunities to pick up shifts based on service needs and your availability.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who believes in a truly person-centred approach, where every young person is supported based on their unique needs, strengths, goals, and identity.
We work with vulnerable young people aged 16–25, helping them build essential life skills, develop confidence, and move towards independent living — always at a pace that feels right for them.
As a Youth Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in each young person’s journey, providing tailored support based on their individual needs, choices, routines, and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote each young person’s wellbeing and ensure their home environment is safe and comfortable
- Encourage independence by supporting the development of everyday living skills
- Build trusting, respectful relationships that empower young people to feel heard and valued
- Maintain clear professional boundaries to ensure safe and consistent support
- Support access to education, training, and employment in line with individual goals
- Record daily progress in a strengths-based way that recognises achievements
Working Pattern
We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with shifts offered on a flexible basis, including:
- Day shifts
- Waking nights
- Sleep-ins
- Weekends
As a Zero Hours Youth Support Worker, you can choose shifts that suit your availability, although flexibility to work a range of shift types (including sleep-ins where required) is important.
Skills and Experience
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those new to care, if you bring the right values:
- A caring, patient, and person-centred approach
- Willingness to learn (full training provided)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Ideally, around 12 months’ experience working with young people (including voluntary or lived experience)
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work towards positive outcomes
- Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People (or willingness to complete with support)
- Strong communication skills and willingness to travel
